Tottenham are reportedly interested in a standout defender from Serie A, alongside other Premier League clubs, namely Manchester United and Aston Villa.

Three prominent Premier League clubs are reportedly monitoring the progress of Bologna Dutch defender Sam Beukema.

With a contract that runs until June 2027, the 25-year-old has captured the attention of scouts from Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Aston Villa.

Last Wednesday, Bologna faced Liverpool in the Champions League, where the Italian side put up a commendable fight but ultimately fell to a 2-0 defeat.

Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah sealed the win for the Reds. However, Beukema’s performance did not go unnoticed, as he showcased his defensive capabilities, confirming the potential that has been evident in his Serie A performances this season.

Despite the loss, Beukema demonstrated composure and skill, continuing to build on his impressive start to the season, where he has featured in eight official matches and provided an assist.

His consistent displays in the heart of the defence have made him a player of interest for clubs looking to strengthen their backlines.

According to journalist Nicolo Schira, scouts from the interested Premier League teams were specifically there to evaluate Beukema’s performance against Liverpool.

Should any of these clubs decide to pursue Beukema, they will likely encounter tough negotiations with Bologna. The Serie A club will not let their star defender go easily, especially with a contract that extends until 2027.

Additionally, a portion of any transfer fee, 20%, would go to AZ Alkmaar, the club from which Beukema transferred to Bologna.

With his growing reputation, it seems only a matter of time before Beukema attracts a serious bid from one of these Premier League giants.

It’s worth noting that Tottenham’s central defence is currently well-stocked with the pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, both of whom have attracted interest from Real Madrid.
