Tottenham transfer target set to join Spanish giants
Nico Williams has reportedly agreed to join Barcelona this summer, but the Catalan club's ability to secure the winger's signature will depend on their Financial Fair Play (FFP) situation, according to Gerard Romero.
Williams, coming off a stellar season with Athletic Club, has been attracting interest from several top clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur. The Telegraph reported in April that Tottenham had the 21-year-old winger, who has a release clause of €50m (£42.8m), high on their wishlist.
This interest is shared by other European giants, with Football Transfers noting that Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping a close eye on the young Spaniard's situation.
Gerard Romero revealed on his Twitch channel that Williams has given his nod to a move to Camp Nou ahead of the next season. The journalist emphasized that the winger is highly coveted by Barcelona, who are described as "crazy" about him.
Despite this, Athletic Club remains firm on their stance that Williams' release clause must be met for any deal to proceed, and Barcelona has yet to make an official approach.

Tottenham transfer target set to join Spanish giants
The crux of the matter lies in Barcelona's financial constraints. Romero pointed out that the La Liga giants will need to address their FFP challenges to facilitate a move for the Spanish international, especially with strong competition from Premier League clubs.
Last season, Williams scored eight goals in 37 appearances across all competitions for Athletic (Transfermarkt), showcasing his potential and attracting attention from top European clubs.
It would not be surprising to see Tottenham or other clubs willing to trigger his release clause this summer, especially if he delivers impressive performances at the Euros.
However, if Williams is set on joining Barcelona and the transfer is feasible, Tottenham and others might find it challenging to compete with such a high-profile move.
