Tottenham Hotspur's quest to secure the services of Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior seems to be hitting a roadblock, with reports indicating that they might lose out on the player.

For some time now, Spurs have been eyeing reinforcements in the wide areas, with Iling-Junior emerging as a potential target. The England Under-21 international has been on their radar for the past two transfer windows, as they look to bolster their squad with young talent.

Recent speculation suggests that Iling-Junior could be available for a bargain price of £12.8m this summer, as Juventus seeks to offload players to finance new acquisitions, per TuttoJuve.

However, Spurs aren't alone in their pursuit, as they are one of five clubs keeping tabs on the former Chelsea prospect. Premier League rivals Newcastle, as well as Serie A outfits Atalanta and Bologna, are also interested in acquiring his services.

The latest twist in the saga comes from renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, who indicates that Aston Villa might be inching closer to securing Iling-Junior's signature. This potential development is fueled by Juventus' interest in Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.

Talks are reportedly underway for a swap deal involving Iling-Junior, Weston McKennie, and cash heading to Villa, with Douglas Luiz making the switch to Juventus.

Despite making 24 appearances for Juventus in Serie A last season, with most of them coming off the bench, Iling-Junior's future at the club seems uncertain.

While Iling-Junior may have potential, his lack of regular opportunities at Juventus raises doubts about his immediate impact. However, it's worth noting that previous signings from Juventus have proven to be successful for Spurs, so perhaps I'm being too critical.
