Tottenham Hotspur are under pressure in the summer transfer window to sign a new striker. In truth, they have needed a new centre forward since 2023, when Harry Kane left the club to join Bayern Munich.

Under new management last season, Ange Postecoglou spent a season familiarising himself with the Tottenham squad, only to notice the holes in the squad he would like to rectify. Certainly, a striker is at the top of that list, hence why they are continually being linked to striker in the transfer window. It is not a decision which should be rushed, as prudence will pay off in this hunt.

However, there are instances when a golden opportunity presents itself and Tottenham simply have to grab it. As the old saying goes, "some trains will only pass once."

According to a report from Tottenham News speaking to John Wenham, Tottenham have been backed to push for the signing of Jonathan David from LOSC. What's even more impressive is that the Canadian international striker could be signed for as little as £20m, in what would be a no-brainer for Tottenham.

As expected, there will be big interest from some big clubs. Tottenham will not be alone in the transfer race for Jonathan David, as the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham are also interested in signing him. However, Spurs could present the biggest growth opportunity to David and Ange Postecoglou is known to have the gift of the gab, so he could do some convincing.

Jonathan David is a proven goal-scorer. Last season in Ligue 1, the Canada international scored an impressive 19 goals and provided 4 assists. He also scored for Canada in their most recent Copa America match against Peru, so he has continued his good form into the summer interim period.
