Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung Min-Son has been withdrawn from the South Korea squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Jordan and Iraq for precautionary reasons, having picked up an injury in Spurs' Europa League opener against Qarabag last week.

Whilst this all but means that he will not be at Ange Postecoglu's disposal for the final game before the international break against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, this still can only be a good thing for Spurs.

The hit of him not playing against Brighton is absolutely worth him not traveling all across Asia over the international break and risking an aggravation to the injury. Even if he wasn't going to play, it cannot be overstated how inconvenient 20,000 ish miles of traveling plus huge jet lag would have been for everyone involved.

Whilst there is no doubt that Son will be absolutely gutted, as a very patriotic person, to miss some huge games in World Cup qualifying, there is no doubt that this is all for the best. If he has two weeks to rest up and recover, we can see the best version of him and he can then play for South Korea in the November international break in much better shape and fitness.

Spurs have generally coped well in his absence so far, although Brighton will be the toughest test yet. To look at the situation with a glass-half-full mindset, this could mean more minutes for Mikey Moore after an impressive display against Ferencvaros in the Europa League on Thursday night.

With Moore impressing, and Werner missing another good chance, Ange will no doubt have a serious conscience about playing Moore in Son's absence on Sunday. The Spurs manager said that the youngster was "outstanding for a 17-year-old, and emphasised how impressive it was to play that well in a European away game at such a young age.
