Tottenham Hotspur will be active in the summer transfer window, as Ange Postecoglou would like to strengthen the foundations of his squad. Spurs unfortunately missed out on Champions League qualification but thankfully, Ange has accepted the responsibility, rather than pinpointing other external factors.

Now, the summer transfer window is a golden opportunity and it is in his own hands. Should Tottenham strengthen in the right positions, they can complete their objective of returning to the Champions League under Postecoglou.

One player who has been consistently linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium is Conor Gallagher. The Chelsea midfielder who has been called up to the England squad for EURO 2024 was one of Chelsea's best players in the 2023/24 campaign. Given that he runs out of contract in 2025, it was believed that he could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer.

However, Tottenham must act quick if they would like to persuade Gallagher of their genuine interest...

According to a report from The Guardian, Chelsea are open to contract talks with Conor Gallagher to keep him at the club, despite transfer talks and their seeming need to sell players. This is a huge U-turn, and after informal talks with Aston Villa, the Blues may have decided it is in their best interest to keep Gallagher.

Depending on his performance at the Euros, Gallagher could be an in-demand player in the summer transfer window. Already, Tottenham Hotspur and Champions League-elect Aston Villa have shown an interest in signing him, so he won't be short of options should he choose to leave Chelsea.

At this point in time, talks have not commenced between Gallagher and Chelsea. Ultimately, the decision will come down to the player and what he sees best for his future. It must be said that Gallagher showed immense improvement under former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, who recently left the club through mutual agreements.

Therefore, a club like Tottenham, who still very much have the Pochettino imprint, could appeal to Gallagher. That said, he is also tipped to be a key player under Enzo Maresca, even revealing his own excitement to play under Maresca. Only time will tell but Tottenham fans understandably want him to make the switch across the London pond.
