Tottenham Hotspur youngster Lucas Bergvall has been talking about his start to life in N17, and how he has had to adapt to the step up in quality in a sit-down interview.

The teenager was signed in January and joined the club from Djurgardens IF in the summer. He had an impressive pre-season, before a lively cameo at Leicester City on the opening night, and has featured in all three Premier League games for Spurs so far, earning a call-up to the Swedish national team as a result.

Speaking to Aftonbladet, the 18-year old said:

"I don’t know what my expectations were before, to be honest. I came into a tough but fun pre-season. It was very new. I just wanted to start playing football again after the holiday break. The only thing I knew was that it would be tough."

"It was a motivation when I came to a new league with new people, new teammates, new coaches, new facilities, diet, training, physical activity, everything."

"It feels like I have taken very big steps these two months. [Now] that I get into it more and more, and have been able to adapt more to the game that is played in the Premier League."

"The quality of the players and the teams you face. It’s incredible quality, everywhere. It is not possible to make that many mistakes or any mistakes at all. You must always be ready. This is the case regardless of where you play, but now it can be punished a little easier."

For such a young player, Bergvall speaks very well, speaking with maturity and with a down-to-earth mindset. He seems to be a player and person who wants to improve and knows what he needs to do in order to be able to do so.
