Tottenham player suffers injury and withdraws from National squad
A Tottenham player has suffered an injury and withdrawn from his national team's camp during the international break.
Tottenham loanee Bryan Gil has had to pull out of the Spanish national team due to an unfortunate injury, just when it seemed his career was finally regaining momentum.
The young winger, currently on loan at Girona, has been in impressive form this season, earning him a recall to the Spain squad. However, his hopes of making an impact in the upcoming Nations League fixtures have been dashed.
After a somewhat frustrating time at Tottenham, where he struggled to secure regular playing time under both Antonio Conte and Ange Postecoglou, Gil has found new life at Girona.
Since joining the La Liga side in the summer, the 23-year-old has made nine appearances in the league, starting six of those matches and even getting on the scoresheet once.
Gil’s involvement has not been limited to La Liga. He has also been a key figure for Girona in their Champions League campaign, starting both of their matches in the group stage.

Given his recent form, it was no surprise when Spain’s head coach, Luis de la Fuente, called him up for the national team.
Unfortunately, just as it seemed Gil was set to make his mark on the international stage, he reported some discomfort and was forced to withdraw from the squad.
The Spanish FA confirmed that Gil has returned to Girona for further evaluation, leaving him to focus on his recovery.
Despite this setback, Gil’s season so far at Girona is a promising sign for both the player and his parent club, Tottenham.
Meanwhile, another Tottenham player, Pedro Porro, has been given his chance to shine with the Spanish national team.
After the disappointment of missing out on the Euros, Porro has been recalled to the squad for their Nations League matches against Denmark and Serbia.
