Tottenham Hotspur would like to sign a centre forward in the 2024 summer transfer window. It is fair to say that this is a logical ambition from Ange Postecoglou, who missed the services of an out-and-out centre forward in the 2023/24 campaign. It is now believed they will lock horns with Chelsea, who are interested in signing the same striker.

As a club who is linked with every player under the sun, it should come as no surprise that Chelsea are yet again linked with another Tottenham target. Long story short, any transfer target linked to Chelsea should be taken with a pinch of salt. Tottenham's transfer hunt is more serious and they are in more need of a striker than Chelsea, after all.

According to a report from Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with the representatives of Jonathan David over a potential summer transfer. The report states that Chelsea are also pushing to get the deal over the line.

David is currently representing Canada at this year's Copa America. They lost their opening match against Argentina, with David unsurprisingly starting the match. Alongside Alphonso Davies, Jonathan David is one of the most important assets available to Canada.

With LOSC Lille, David is entering the final year of his contract. Therefore, it is no surprise he is the talk of the transfer town at the moment. Ageing at just 24 years old, David has shown he is one of the most improved strikers of the last few seasons, with an incredibly high ceiling. As the focal point at Tottenham, he could smash that ceiling.

Last season, David scored 19 Ligue 1 goals for LOSC as they finished fourth in Ligue 1 table, unfortunately missing out on a top-three race which stretched to the final day.
