Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to bring back one of their former academy stars, Kyle Walker-Peters, before the transfer window closes.

The 27-year-old right-back, currently playing for Southampton, could be heading back to North London, where he first began his career.

After recently securing Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth, Tottenham has successfully enhanced their attacking options. Now, the club is focusing on reinforcing their defense, and Walker-Peters has emerged as a key target.

According to GiveMeSport, Spurs are considering making a move for their former youth product as they look to strengthen their backline.

Walker-Peters originally came through Tottenham’s youth system but struggled to secure a regular spot with the senior team.

In January 2020, he moved to Southampton, where he quickly became a pivotal figure in their defense.

His performances have caught the eye, and with only a year remaining on his contract, speculation about his potential return to Tottenham is heating up.

The timing of this potential move is influenced by Emerson Royal's expected transfer to AC Milan. With Royal set to leave, Tottenham is on the lookout for a reliable replacement.

Walker-Peters, who has consistently delivered strong performances for Southampton, fits the profile of a player who can provide both quality and depth.

His return would not only fill the gap left by Royal but also help Tottenham meet their homegrown player quota—a crucial factor in squad registration.

Southampton values Walker-Peters at approximately £20 million, a figure that Tottenham is likely to consider given their current financial situation.

Bringing Walker-Peters back wouldn’t just be a smart move; it would also show that the club values and invests in its homegrown talent.

Generally, not everyone agrees with bringing back academy graduates to strengthen the team, but at this price and age, it could be quite a cost-effective and positive move for Tottenham. What do you think?
