Reports emerging from France are suggesting that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Stade de Reims midfielder Amir Richardson.

Richardson was born in France to an American father and a Moroccan mother. He first played youth football for France at U20 level, before switching to play for his Mother’s country in 2023.

Amir Richardson is currently at the Olympic games in France, with his Morocco side now into the semi-finals.

The Moroccan midfielder played 28 Ligue 1 games for Stade de Reims last season, starting exactly half of those games, scoring three goals and providing a further assist.

Richardson stands at a whopping 6’6, as per his Wikipedia page, and would certainly add some height and steel that was missing for Ange Postecoglu’s men during large periods of the last campaign.

The Underrated Scout on Twitter says that he is an all-rounded midfield with technical and mental attributes as well as his clear physical traits.

He is seen as an all-round and complete midfielder, with a strong personality. He is described by The Underrated Scout as a box-to-box midfielder.

Despite standing at around 6’6 tall, his agility was rated fairly high, and based on clips posted by the same account he is capable of eating up large spaces.

Another plus is that Richardson is left-footed. All of Spurs’ double pivot options - Pape Sarr, Yves Bissouma, Archie Gray, Oliver Skipp are right-footed, so Richardson could provide some balance there.

Richardson is only 22, so has plenty of room to grow and develop. But he also has experience, featuring at both the AFCON, and as mentioned above, the Olympic games this year.

Spurs fans are growing restless and would take any business at this point, even if it is a relatively unknown name. The Premier League starts in less than 2 weeks time and needs bodies through the door sooner rather than later.
