Tottenham finally locate Emerson Royal transfer replacement
By Kian Long
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou is famously unsatisfied with the current state of the club. Therefore, the summer transfer window presents a golden opportunity to the Aussie boss for him to strengthen the foundations with players of his prototype. But first, before any new signings are made, Postecoglou must address which players will leave the club.
Tottenham finally locate Emerson Royal transfer replacement
There are certain players who stick out like sore thumbs as they are on the fringe of first-team action without much hope of staking their claim. One of those players is Emerson Royal, with the Brazil international being at the club since 2021, making 79 Premier League appearances but never looking like an assured option.
In Ange's first season, Emerson Royal was granted just 11 Premier League starts. However, it must be said that Royal was fortunate in the sense of players ahead of him in the pecking order being injured, which afforded him more game-time which he probably didn't earn through merit.

So, in the summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur are understandably seeking a player who can come in to replace Emerson Royal. Ideally, they would like a full-back with the capability of challenging the starting lineup more closely than Royal has proven to do.
According to a report from GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham Hotspur are targeting Monaco right-back Vanderson as their ideal Emerson Royal replacement.
The 22-year-old is emerging as one of the best full-backs on the transfer market. Last season, he saw an influx in minutes for Monaco as he was one of their bright-sparks. He made 20 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing one assist.
As a versatile right-back who has the ability to play in midfield or on the wing, he would be the ideal addition for Ange Postecoglou in his bid to improve squad depth and add a sense of unpredictability to Tottenham. The one thing they wish to avoid is to be a one-trick pony tactically, so versatile and cunning players such as Vanderson would help this.
Emerson Royal was by no means a disastrous signing but it must be said that he didn't live up to expectation. It is better for Tottenham if they cut ties with the full-back now, while they still have time to seek a replacement. As far as replacements go, Vanderson of Monaco is one of the best out there and he will be a breath of fresh air to Spurs.
