Tottenham join Napoli and Liverpool in race to sign 19-year-old defender
Tottenham are interested in signing a young defender from Serie A who has also been linked with Napoli and Liverpool, according to a recent report.
Tottenham Hotspur are set to battle Liverpool and Napoli for the signing of Lecce’s talented left-back, Patrick Dorgu.
The 19-year-old, regarded as one of Serie A's most promising young defenders, is attracting interest from several top European clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
Reports have emerged that Napoli, who attempted to sign Dorgu last summer, are ready to reignite their pursuit of the young defender.
However, they now face competition from Premier League giants Tottenham and Liverpool, both of whom are keen to bolster their defensive options.
Despite Ange Postecoglou enjoying a strong start to the season with an abundance of attacking talent and midfield depth, there are still question marks surrounding his defensive options.

Tottenham lack a natural backup for Destiny Udogie at left-back, leaving the door open for reinforcements in that position.
Though Djed Spence, primarily a right-back, has impressed when filling in on the left side, Spurs may still be in the market for a more specialist option.
Spence has adapted well to Postecoglou’s inverted full-back role despite being right-footed, but relying on him as a permanent solution at left-back may be a risk.
That’s where Dorgu comes into the picture. The Danish-Nigerian left-back has earned plaudits for his performances in Italy, where he has established himself as a solid defender.
His ability to contribute both defensively and offensively makes him a perfect fit for Postecoglou's high-pressing, attack-minded system.
Napoli are likely to push hard for Dorgu after failing to secure his signature last summer. The Serie A champions are keen to strengthen their squad with young talent, and Dorgu fits the bill.
However, their challenge will come from the Premier League, with Liverpool and Tottenham both in need of defensive reinforcements.
Liverpool, like Tottenham, have been eyeing potential left-backs to provide depth behind Andy Robertson. The Reds could see Dorgu as an ideal candidate, but they too will have to fend off competition from Spurs.
