Newly-promoted side Ipswich Town are preparing to make their mark on the Premier League. They hope to establish themselves as a Premier League mainstay once again and a new signing which has caught their eye could certainly help them to achieve this. It would actually serve as a beneficial signing for Tottenham Hotspur, who made a wise decision in 2022.

Tottenham Hotspur could receive 40% transfer boost from Ipswich Town

According to a report from i news, Ipswich Town are set to make an £18m transfer offer to sign Jack Clarke from Sunderland. Jack Clarke is a former Tottenham Hotspur prodigy who was sold to the Black Cats in 2022 and at the time, Sunderland pledged to pay Tottenham 40% sell-on clause to Tottenham, should they go on to sell Clarke. So, it could now serve to benefit Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur are busy themselves in the summer transfer window. They have already strenghthened the midfield and now they are hoping to make some more signings before the window closes. To receive a 40% sell-on fee from Sunderland would certainly be a welcomed boost for their transfer plans, so they can thank Ipswich Town if the deal goes through.

Jack Clarke was a failed Tottenham signing, as he never made a single league appearance for Spurs after he was signed from Leeds United. Instead, he went on countless loan spells before being sold. However, five years after he was signed by Tottenham, it has now proven to be smart business from Tottenham.

Now, Tottenham are looking to build for the future. With Ange Postecoglou at the helm, they can leave their former gloomy days behind them and instead, look forward to the glory days. The Aussie manager seems to be the perfect option for the long-term future. Hopefully, Tottenham continue to fulfil his transfer plans.

Long story short, nobody can turn their noses up at a 40% sell-on fee being received. A deal in the £18m range could provide Tottenham with a nice cash injection and one they wouldn't have got elsewhere.
