Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a last-minute addition to their squad, with Monaco's Vanderson emerging as a potential target. According to French outlet L'Equipe, Spurs are prepared to make a late bid for the Brazilian defender, who could add further depth to their already well-stocked right-back position.

Tottenham’s interest in Vanderson comes as somewhat of a surprise, given that the club currently has several options at right-back. With Pedro Porro as the first-choice starter and Djed Spence poised to serve as his understudy, the position seems well-covered.

Additionally, new signing Archie Gray has shown versatility by being able to fill in on the right side of the defense if needed. However, despite these options, the rumors surrounding Vanderson’s potential switch to North London refuse to die down.

L'Equipe reports that Tottenham are willing to offer €30 million (£25.4 million) for the 23-year-old, a substantial sum that could tempt Monaco to part ways with the player.

Although Vanderson is under contract with the French club until 2028, Monaco's president, Dmitry Rybolovlev, is known for being open to significant offers. This could pave the way for a late move to the Premier League.

Vanderson’s future at Monaco has been under speculation for some time, and Tottenham's interest only adds to the uncertainty. The Brazilian has been a key player for Monaco, known for his defensive solidity and ability to contribute offensively, which aligns well with Ange Postecoglou’s attacking philosophy.

Despite this, Tottenham are believed to be more focused on strengthening other areas of their defense, particularly at center-back or left-back, positions where they currently lack depth.

Given Tottenham’s existing right-back options, it seems unlikely that Vanderson would be brought in solely to compete for that position. Instead, there is speculation that Postecoglou might consider deploying him as a left-back.
