Tottenham competes with Brentford and Crystal Palace for midfielder
By Manuel Meza
Journalist Alan Nixon has disclosed that Tottenham Hotspur are now competing with Brentford and Crystal Palace to sign Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham, the younger sibling of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham.
Jobe Bellingham has had an impressive year at Sunderland after moving from Birmingham City last summer. His performances have caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, with Tottenham, Brentford, and Crystal Palace all expressing interest.
According to Nixon, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is a big fan of the 18-year-old and views him as a long-term option for the Tottenham midfield. Despite the youngster being valued at over £20 million, the Premier League trio are not deterred by the price tag.
Bellingham, a Birmingham City academy graduate, has shown significant potential and is being tipped for a move to the top flight. If he joins Tottenham, Nixon suggests he would initially serve as a squad player, potentially providing cover for James Maddison. However, the Spurs hierarchy views him as an investment for the future, believing he could develop into a key player.

Tottenham competes with Brentford and Crystal Palace for midfielder
Tottenham's interest in Jobe Bellingham aligns with Ange Postecoglou's strategy of future-proofing the club's midfield. With young talents like Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall already at the club, adding Bellingham to the mix could bolster Tottenham's long-term prospects.
Postecoglou has a track record of nurturing young players, as seen with the development of Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr. Bellingham's potential move to Spurs could provide the team with added depth and versatility in midfield.
The competition from Brentford and Crystal Palace indicates that Bellingham is highly regarded across the Premier League. Brentford and Palace are known for their keen eye for young talent, which underscores Bellingham's potential value. However, Tottenham's established stature and Postecoglou's reputation for developing young players might give them an edge in securing his signature.
