Tottenham set to compete with Arsenal for in-form Barcelona attacker

Indeed, according to a report by Spanish outlet Sport, Tottenham are one of the linked clubs to Barcelona attacker Raphinha. It is believed they are in the race alongside Arsenal, who are long-term admirers of the Brazilian star.

What makes Raphinha a standout transfer target is that he boasts Premier League experience. For two years before signing for Barcelona, he represented Leeds United and was one of their best players. In fact, he was their top goal-scorer in his final season at Leeds.

Raphinha has never struck people as a one-club man. Ageing at 27 years old, he has already represented five different clubs. The winger is approaching the prime stage of his career now, so he may wish to settle.

Recently, Raphinha has been in good form. In his last 10 appearances across all competitions, he has provided four goals and scored two assists. This is impressive considering he hasn't played the full 90 minutes in any of those matches, coming off the bench in a lot of them.

However, Barcelona find themselves in a position of needing to sell players in the summer transfer window. Given their financial situation and Xavi leaving the managerial role, funds must be raised to meet the transfer demands of their new head coach. Player sales is likely the best avenue for the Catalan side.

Meanwhile, Timo Werner has decided on his future.
