As per Matt Law of media outlet The Telegraph, Spurs are understood to have objected to lowering the maximum amount they can charge visiting fans during their Europa League campaign.

Some fans have asked why charging away fans more money is such an issue. Firstly, the principle of it is still poor. Spurs do not need the extra revenue from ticket prices being over £30, and they are pricing working-class fans from attending games. That much is still poor, even if it doesn't bother Spurs.

Even worse, it does. Because as a result, the clubs of the four league phase games can now charge Sprus fans extra money, and potentially price them out of going to the games.

It shows once again that those upstairs are out of touch and do not know, or even worse, do not care, what the fans think. Considering ENIC and Levy are already reasonably unpopular within the Spurs fanbase, an easy PR move would have been to agree to the ticket price cap. Instead, they are making fans who are already frustrated at the early season results, even more annoyed.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy makes controversial decision

Spurs have been linked to a part takeover this summer, though things have gone quiet on that front and fans do not have much expectation of anything happening.

Fans have used this fresh frustration at Daniel Levy to remind everyone that under his 23-year stewardship of the club, along with ENIC, the club have one solitary league cup to show for it, which was now sixteen years ago in itself.

Fans will remember Antonio Conte's famous rant after his final game away to Southampton back in March of 2023, where he reiterated this point:

"It is easy in this way. Tottenham’s story is this, 20 years there is the owner and they never won something but why? The fault is only for the club, or for every manager that stays here."

" I have seen the managers that Tottenham had on the bench. You risk to disrupt the figure of the manager and protecting the other situation in every moment. Until now I tried to hide the situation but now, no, because I repeat I don’t want to see what I have seen today."
