Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are set to become rivals in the transfer window this summer, as both clubs have been linked with a move for VFB Stuttgart winger Chris Fuhrich.

Last summer, the major transfer saga saw Spurs lose their star striker Harry Kane to Bayern in a high-profile deal that left Tottenham fans heartbroken. However, the January transfer window saw a reversal of fortunes, with Tottenham successfully securing the signing of defender Radu Dragusin, despite strong interest from the German giants.

This summer, the rivalry between the two clubs will extend beyond the transfer market, as they are scheduled to face each other twice in pre-season friendlies. These matches will mark Kane's first return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since his departure last year.

Off the pitch, Spurs and Bayern are both reportedly keen on signing Stuttgart winger Chris Fuhrich. Christian Falk revealed via X: "Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur are fighting for Chris Führich, the 26-year-old Stuttgart player. The winger has a release clause of €23.5m."

This release clause translates to just over £20m for a player who registered nine goals and seven assists in the Bundesliga this season, helping Stuttgart secure a second-place finish ahead of Bayern Munich. Fuhrich has been with Stuttgart since 2021 when he joined from SC Paderborn, and it remains uncertain whether he will leave a club that has qualified for the Champions League next season.

Fuhrich's performance last season was commendable, but some fans believe he might not offer much different from Timo Werner. Fuhrich is known for being methodical and tricky, similar to Werner, whereas some feel Tottenham needs a winger who is stronger and more direct.

The allure of playing for Bayern and staying in Germany could also influence Fuhrich's decision, making Bayern a more appealing option compared to adapting to the physicality of the Premier League.
