Dominic Solanke's performance against Manchester United has been praised by many people, with the striker leading the line superbly well and getting his third goal in as many games with a quarter of an hour to go, as Spurs needed a goal to calm any second half nerves - to top it all off.

Stats reveal Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke's dominance against Man United

The numbers provided have shown just how dominant he was throughout the game. Soalnke had four shots throughout the game, completed 2/2 dribbles, had 36 touches, completed 17 touches at an 88% success rate, created one chance, drew one foul, made three clearances, and won 2/3 aerial duels.

In addition, he amassed a total of 1.33 xG throughout the game, showing just how good the positions he got into were. His movement for the third goal was absolutely world-class and a seriously encouraging sign of things to come.

Solanke's mobility, pressing, and link-up feel perfect for Ange Postecoglu's system which requires all three of those things (and more). He even said so himself last week, in an interview with The Guardian, saying: "We are not scared of anyone so we will go there [Old Trafford] and be on the front foot. One of the reasons why I was so delighted to come to Tottenham was the playing style. It suits me. I love it. When the team is playing well, we can dominate games. The way that we play will create chances for me.”

Safe to say Solanke's assessment of the trip to Manchester United was spot on. Spurs did go there and play on the front foot. Spurs were not scared, at all. And why would they be? Ange's side are better than Erik Ten Hag's side, and they more than showed it yesterday.

In the aforementioned interview, Solanke says that getting back into the England setup is definitely something he is looking to get back into. Lee Carsley names his second squad as interim England manager this week, so it is worth keeping an eye on. Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins are sure picks, but beyond that, you cannot see anyone else ahead of Solanke. Ivan Toney is in Saudi Arabia and there isn't really anyone else in the picture. Let's see.
