On Saturday evening, Luka Vuskovic and Alfie Devine were in action as KVC Westerlo hosted Royal Antwerp in the Belgian Pro League.

Both players were named in the starting XI by manager Timmy Simons, who again went with a three at the back set up. Like last time out, Vuskovic started on the right of a back three, whilst Devine started in the number ten role behind the two strikers.

Not too long before halftime, Devine won a penalty for his side, but Matija Frigan was unable to convert and saw his spot kick saved. Four minutes later, Spurs icon Toby Alderweireld put the visitors in front with a header from close range.

Frigan would redeem himself though, as he equalised on the stroke of halftime to make it 1-1 going into the break.

For most of the second half, it was quite a nothing game, with neither side creating many chances and when they did they were generally sighters rather than clear cut chances.

However, right at the end of the game, it was a tale of the past and future Spurs centre-backs. Vuskovic was booked for a foul in the fourth minute of injury time - and from the resulting free-kick, Alderweireld scored for his and Antwerp's second of the game, giving the visitors all three points and inflicting heartbreak on Westerlo.

Truly a gutting day for everyone concerned, but Devine's performance was at least a positive. As well as the penalty won, the midfielder also had five shots, won 3/3 ground duels, had 36 touches, created a chance, and drew a foul, as he was trusted to play the full 90 on his full debut for the club.

This defeat means it is two draws and three losses in the last five for Westerlo, having won three straight to start the season. They are now down to 8th in the Belgian Pro League. Next up is a trip to Standard Liege next Saturday, with kick-off at 17:15 BST.
