On Saturday afternoon, Spurs youngster George Abbott and his Notts County side traveled to Bromley in League Two action.

Abbott was trusted to start for the second game in a row, having been named in the starting XI for the win over Accrington Stanley at home last week.

This time manager Stuart Maynard went with a 4231 setup, differing from the 343 system he had previously been using. Still, this did not change Abbott's role too much, as he was playing in a midfield two beforehand, and was again now.

It was the absolute nightmare start for Abbott and his counterparts, who found themselves 2-0 down in the first six minutes of the game, after quickfire goals from Michael Cheek and Ben Thompson.

Notts County come from early 2-0 deficit to win on road

The frenetic start, continued, however, and Notts halved the deficit after 13 minutes thanks to a penalty from Jodi Jones.

County made a quick start to the second half and had equalised just two minutes after the break, before completing the turnaround to go 3-2 up after 56 minutes.

With just a minute to go, The Magpies made it 4-2 to secure four straight wins and continue their momentum. Despite Stuart Maynard making all 5 of his alloted substitutes, Abbott played the whole 90 minutes, in a great sign of faith in the Spurs teenager.

It was more of an unassuming game for the midfielder on this occassion, but still a solid outing all the same as he continues to adapt to senior football. This win puts Notts County top of League Two after matchday six, with fourteen points and a +8 goal difference from their first six games so far. The East Midlands side are the only remaining unbeaten side in the league, having picked up four wins and two draws from their games so far.

Next up for Abbott and Notts is a home game against Gillingham next Saturday. Despite the season still being very young, this feels like a huge game - as Gillingham are second in League Two, just one point behind Notts. Kick-off is 15:00 BST, 10:00 ET.
