There is cause for concern from a Spurs point of view when it comes to the progression of on-loan youngsters Josh Keeley and Jamie Donley.

To begin with, Donley was playing regularly but has slowly but surely seen his time begin to gradually decrease, first being limited to cameos from the bench, before being an unused sub altogether for their credible 2-2 draw at home to Peterborough United in League One on Tuesday night, despite Orient only using four of their allotted five subs.

Donley did start three League One games in a row, but was an unused substitute in the win away to Reading and was an injury-time sub in the seriously impressive 4-1 win over Stockport County on Saturday. He did at least play 72 minutes in the game against Brentford in the Carabao Cup

Meanwhile, Keeley was once again not in manager Richie Wellens's matchday squad for this game. The only squad he has been included in was the aforementioned Carabao Cup third-round tie against Brentford, where he started and put in an impressive performance against Premier League opposition, despite Orient losing the game 3-1 in the end.

He has at least banked two 90's whilst representing the Republic of Ireland U21s, for their U21 Euro qualifiers against Turkey and Latvia earlier this month.

This is not any slight on Orient, it is of course not their priority to develop Spurs' young players, but Spurs must be careful that they have not misjudged more loans. Dane Scarlett had a terrible loan at Ipswich Town last season and is going through a similarly frustrating loan at Oxford United so far this season.

It makes you feel relieved that Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear were trusted to stay with the first team this season, and not shipped on loan to a club where they are reduced to short cameos off the bench, training with worse players than they would be at Spurs. What they can learn from Ange and players such as Heung-Min Son is invaluable.

This draw leaves the O's 16th in League One. Next up for Orient is a tricky home against Wrexham on Saturday, 15:00 BST. Hopefully, it will be a more productive game for both players.
