In an engaging and heartfelt session at the recent Tottenham Hotspur Fans Forum on September 23, club captain Son Heung-min shared his personal favourite player in the club’s storied history.

When asked by a young supporter about his all-time favourite Spurs player, Son didn't hesitate to name his long-time teammate Ben Davies, shedding light on the special bond they have formed over the years.

Having joined Tottenham in 2014, Davies has made a remarkable 330 appearances for the club. His consistent performances and commitment have endeared him to fans and players alike.

Son’s admiration for Davies is particularly poignant, considering their decade-long partnership on the pitch. Their camaraderie extends beyond football; recently, Son became the godfather to Davies’ son, further solidifying their close relationship.

Davies has proven to be an invaluable asset to the squad, often stepping in during critical moments despite not always being the first-choice option.

His dedication and versatility in defence have played a significant role in Spurs’ campaigns, and his performance during the Carabao Cup match against Coventry City is a testament to his importance.

In that game, Davies made a stunning block that prevented what could have been a costly mistake from goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

During the forum, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy also addressed the challenges of managing the club amidst fan criticism, explaining how he channels negativity into motivation for success.

Meanwhile, manager Ange Postecoglou discussed his approach to maintaining an attacking style of play while acknowledging the need for some pragmatism in top-level football.

It’s simply brilliant to see how two club stars respect and admire each other beyond football, although in this case, it was indeed a sporting question. Both players are undoubtedly icons of the club, although for some, Son is finished at Tottenham... What do you think?
