It has been a very successful week for Bryan Gil and Girona, as they backed up their 4-0 hammering of CA Osasuna in midweek with a 2-0 victory away at Sevilla on Sunday afternoon.

Gil once again started on the left, though this time in more of a 433 shape rather than the 442 deployed in the aforementioned win over Osasuna. There was no goal for the on-loan Spurs man, but he put in an impressive performance nonetheless.

The 23-year-old recorded; three successful dribbles, one shot, one chance created, eight ground duels won, one interception, and an impressive five tackles in 89 minutes on the field, before being replaced by compatriot Portu.

Despite some big-name departures over the summer such as Aleix Garcia to Bayer Leverkusen and Artem Dovbyk to Roma. Plus, with Savio moving within the City Football Group to Manchester City, and Yan Couto moving to Borussia Dortmund instead of a move back to Girona from City, the La Liga side have still been able to make a fair start to the season, picking up seven points from their first four games.

Two wins out of two for Bryan Gil and Girona in La Liga

Their excellent form last season earned them a spot in this season's edition of the Champions League, and on Thursday they found out their "league phase opponents".

They have some tough games, including the likes of PSG, AC Milan, and Liverpool. Nevertheless, that is a good chance for Gil to prove himself at the absolute highest level. In addition to these tough games, Girona will also play Arsenal at the end of January, where no doubt Gil will be particularly looking to impress and get one over Spurs' rivals.

Next up for Girona after the international break, is a home game against Barcelona, before the aforementioned game away to PSG just three days later. A tough but exciting few days for Gil and his Girona counterparts.
