On this day: Dramatic Tottenham win against Liverpool
By Tom Vinall
It is hard to believe that it has already been exactly one year since Spurs beat Liverpool 2-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in dramatic fashion - but it has. Let's look back on how it all unfolded that day.
For Ange's seventh league game in the Spurs hot seat, he opted for a lineup of; Vicario, Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma; Kulusevski, Maddison, Richarlison, Son.
It was an entertaining start to the game, with both teams creating plenty of chances in an intense affair, with Vicario making a superb save from Cody Gakpo early on. After 26 minutes, Curtis Jones was shown a straight red card for a foul. A few minutes later, Luis Diaz had the ball in the back of the net, only to be ruled offside - with replays showing he was comfortably onside.

Barely any time after that, and Spurs had used their fortune to good use. A sublime through ball from Maddison pierced the Liverpool backline and found Richarlison, who squared the ball to Son who could not miss.
However, with nearly the last kick of the first half, Gakpo was not to be denied, swivelling and finding the back of the net. There was still just about time for Diaz to miss a sitter, with Spurs being let off the hook.
In the second half, Spurs began to probe, with Alisson making sublime saves from Maddison and Son. Midway through the second half, Jota was shown a second yellow for clipping Udogie and the visitors were down to nine men.
For a long time, Spurs were unable to make the dominance count, finding it very hard to play through the Liverpool deep block. Nevertheless, deep, deep into injury time, a fizzed cross from the right by Pedro Porro was turned into his own net by Joel Matip, and Spurs had got a big win, in pretty fortunate circumstances. The win caused huge celebrations after the game, something that did not go down well with the celebration police on social media.
