Wilson Odobert has said that Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung Min-Son has been an inspiration to him.

Odobert came through the academy at Paris Saint-Germain and heaped praise on a couple of their former legendary wingers, as well as Son. Speaking to Spurs Official: "I used to watch players like Neymar, Robinho, and Ronaldinho. All three were great dribblers and top players too.

I tried to gain inspiration from them. Son as well, he was inspirational for me."

The French 19-year-old is exactly the type of player the fans have been crying out for. A pacey winger but more importantly, someone who is able to dribble and create separation from his marker in order to open the space up.

Unfortunately, plenty of fans are uninspired by a Championship signing. Some will be the same fans crying out for the likes of Adam Wharton, Eberechi Eze, and co.

The same fans that would have done anything to see Michael Olise pitch up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

For those that like to crunch the data, per FBRef, Odobert's possession stats over the last year vs the big 5 leagues and UCL make for some exciting reading.

The winger ranks in the 99th percentile for; carries into the penalty area, progressive carries, successful take-ons, and take-ons attempted. He was also in the 98th percentile for touches in the opposition box.

This is exactly the type of player that Spurs have been missing recently, as cliche as it is. Too often at times last season, it was too easy for teams to let Spurs have the ball and defend against a one-dimensional attack.

Odobert gives Ange's men more variety in how they attack. Even if it's something such as winning a penalty. Spurs only had two penalties in the league last season, with Nottingham Forest the only side to have fewer.
