Multiple clubs want to sign Tottenham player following transfer window closure
Tottenham Hotspur find themselves with a dilemma regarding Sergio Reguilon. The Spanish left-back, who has fallen out of favour under new manager Ange Postecoglou, is reportedly attracting interest from clubs in Portugal, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. With the European transfer window now closed, these leagues offer Reguilon a potential escape route from his uncertain situation at Spurs.
Reguilon’s time at Tottenham has been tumultuous. After joining the club from Real Madrid in 2020, the 27-year-old initially impressed with his pace and attacking intent down the left flank. However, injuries and inconsistent performances have seen him slip down the pecking order, culminating in a loan spell at Atletico Madrid last season. Despite returning to North London this summer, it was clear from the outset that Reguilon was not part of Postecoglou’s plans.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has favoured young Italian prospect Destiny Udogie and the versatile Ben Davies for the left-back position. Udogie, in particular, has made a strong impression with his performances, further limiting Reguilon’s chances of breaking into the starting XI.

The situation became even more precarious for Reguilon when the transfer deadline passed on Friday, leaving him still on Tottenham’s books. With limited opportunities for game time, the Spaniard now faces the prospect of spending the season on the sidelines unless a move materialises in the coming days. Postecoglou has been blunt in his assessment, warning that Reguilon may not be integrated into the first team if he remains at the club.
Fortunately for Reguilon, the transfer window remains open in some leagues, offering him a lifeline. According to reports from AS, clubs in Portugal, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia are all exploring the possibility of signing the former Real Madrid man. The Saudi Pro League, in particular, has been linked with a move for Reguilon, as the league continues its ambitious recruitment drive.
