Micky van de Ven injury admission, could be postponing 'treatment or surgery'
Tottenham's starting-XI has shifted and adjusted over the course of this season as key players have continued to battle against injury.
Though the team have maintained a relative dry-spell of player knocks in recent times (apart from Destiny Udogie's season-ending surgery), new information could point to another potential injury on the horizon.
Speaking exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr. Rajpal Brar has provided his opinion on a cloth roll which was notcied by the player's locker in a recent social media post from the club.
"Difficult to say without knowing the specific type of roll and what itβs used for," Dr. Brar started, adding, "Many players like to tape up even when healthy and many players are also playing through discomfort at this part of the season."
The verdict is that the evidence seems far too minimal to draw any major conclusions, however, one possibility remains which could impact the player's long-term health.
"He has had fitness issues lately so it would not surprise me if there was something. As Spurs have something to play for, he might be postponing any treatment or surgery for the summer, as professional footballers sometimes do," Dr. Brar stated.
Another injury for the center-back, who has been a crucial member of the North London side and who has already missed 12 games across all competitions this season due to injury, could come as a massive blow (Transfermarkt).
This Thursday's clash with Chelsea could provide some further insight into the status of the player's condition, and as of now, there's been no formal announcement about any injury that would prevent him from playing.
