Lucas Bergvall was hounded by Tottenham teammate after debut mistake

Tottenham have started the 2024/25 Premier League campaign quite appallingly. They sit tenth in the table, winning just one game so far this season, despite only facing Newcastle as a subtly challenging team.
For a team who wishes to finish in the top four this season, it might seem harsh to only consider Newcastle as "subtly challenging", but these are the standards which Ange Postecoglou must set going forward.
However, there are still positives for Tottenham fans to take, despite the results not going in their favour. A few of the new members, signed by Ange Postecoglou in the summer, have settled in seemlessly.
One of those players is Lucas Bergvall, who is beginning to make his presence known in North London, after arriving in summer.
Lucas Bergvall was hounded by Tottenham teammate after debut mistake
According to a report from Express, Lucas Bergvall recalled a scary situation in the dressing room, as he was hounded by Tottenham teammate Guglielmo Vicario after his debut.
This is because in his first Premier League game, Bergvall made a potentially costly mistake, giving away possession in a dangerous position. In the end, no goal was conceded from this mistake, much to the relief of debutant Bergvall.
However, this is the nature of football. Players make mistakes, they are understandably confronted about those mistakes, and then the two players move on. This was very much the case between Vicario and Bergvall, with a mutual respect growing from the confrontation.
In his own words (via Aftonbladet - translated to English), Bergvall said: "Sometimes you do slightly worse things, sometimes you do better things. We were 1-0 up with a fairly comfortable lead. We conceded 1-1 and then that happens (losing the ball). All is calm now. We have talked about it. Vicario said that there are hot feelings and things like that that happen."
Now, there is an international break. Lucas Bergvall joins Tottenham teammate Dejan Kulusevski on international duty. Both Spurs stars will link up with their Sweden teammates. Sweden face Azerbaijan and Estonia in the September international break.
Then, after the September international break, Tottenham players need no reminding of the upcoming Premier League fixture. Tottenham will host the first North London derby of the season, an opportunity to make amends for last season when Arsenal won the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium meeting.
Lucas Bergvall could certainly play a role in his first North London derby.
