Spurs to miss out on potential Gallagher swap?
A long-term target of Big Ange and his staff, Chelsea's Conor Gallagher is the prototypical box-to-box midfielder that fits the Spurs' manager's system. With the midfield needing a reset, and Chelsea looking to stay away from potential PFR penalties, the 24-year-old Blues captain could be sold.
According to some highly placed sources, including the Guardian, Gallagher wants to stay at Stamford Bridge and play for new manager Enzo Maresca. The Italian gaffer is a disciple of sorts to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, and he looks to bring an exciting brand of attacking football to the Blues. Gallagher, a Chelsea lifer up to this point, would be excited at etching his name next to club legends like Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, so both Spurs and Aston Villa could miss out on him. Truth Meter: 7/10.
