Hotspur roundup: Breaking down this week's transfer rumors
Spurs looking to loan Veliz out to Premier League club?
One of the major signings of last year's summer window, 20-year-old striker Alejo Veliz came to the club from Argentina with great fanfare. His acquisition was seen as one for the future, as Big Ange continued to remake the squad in his image. He made ten appearances for the club across all competitions and even scored his first Premier League goal in the 4-2 loss to Brighton in December.
The club loaned Veliz out to Sevilla in January, but that didn't go as planned. He only played 29 minutes across six appearances, marking yet another uneven loan to a Spanish side for the Lilywhites. Although he will likely go out on loan again this coming season, a loan to a lower-ranked Premier League side may be just what Veliz needs to make the next step.
Playing somewhere like Ipswich Town or Leicester City, maybe Southhampton would allow the young striker to continue his growth and adaptation to the Premier League, and possibly set him in to break into the first team permanently in 2025/26. Truth Meter: 8/10.
