As Tottenham Hotspur prepare for their Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend, manager Ange Postecoglou has shared some mixed news regarding the squad.

On the positive side, rising star Destiny Udogie is likely to feature at the AmEx Stadium. However, in a blow for Spurs, their talisman Son Heung-Min will miss the match as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.

The good news for Spurs is the return of Udogie, who has been a key player in Tottenham's impressive start to the season.

The young left-back, who has been instrumental in the team's strong performances, is expected to either start or play a significant role against Brighton.

Postecoglou confirmed that Udogie has been working hard in training and is likely to be fit enough to take part in the game, a welcome boost for Spurs as they look to continue their fine form.

"Destiny, we think, will be okay," Postecoglou said. "We train today and tomorrow, so he has to get through that, but it looks promising."

Udogie’s presence on the left flank has been crucial in both defence and attack, and his return will be a relief to fans who have seen how effective he can be in progressing the ball and creating chances.

On the downside, Son Heung-Min, who has been carrying much of the attacking burden this season, will not be available for the match.

Despite pushing hard to recover in time, the South Korean international is still nursing a minor hamstring injury and will not be risked.

Postecoglou expressed that it’s too soon for Son to return, although the upcoming international break will allow him some valuable recovery time.

"Sonny is unlikely. He’s pushing hard, but the turnaround might be too quick for him to be available at this stage," the manager explained.

Tottenham will take comfort in Udogie's return but will need other players, like Timo Werner and Richarlison, to step up in Son's absence.
