Former Tottenham manager makes superb Ange Postecoglou claim
By Manuel Meza
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood has recently weighed in on the current Spurs boss, Ange Postecoglou, offering both praise and a call for patience amidst a rocky start to the season. Sherwood’s comments come as Tottenham struggle to find their rhythm under Postecoglou, having secured only one win from their first four matches, marking their worst start in nearly a decade.
Despite Postecoglou’s track record of success in his second season at previous clubs, Tottenham’s performances have yet to match those high expectations. The recent narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal has heightened concerns among fans and analysts about the team’s defensive frailties and inability to close out games effectively.
Sherwood, however, remains optimistic about Postecoglou’s tenure at Tottenham. Speaking to Optus Sport, he expressed his admiration for the Australian manager and urged fans to support him during this challenging period.

Sherwood acknowledged that while the entertainment value of Tottenham’s play has increased under Postecoglou, the team still needs to convert their promising performances into tangible results:
"I wouldn’t put him under pressure, I love him. I think they should persevere with him but he needs the fans behind him."
He pointed out that while Tottenham's play is definitely more exciting than it was under previous managers, they really need to sharpen up in front of goal and be more clinical.
Sherwood’s view fits with the idea that, despite the current difficulties, Postecoglou has the potential to build a successful team in the long run. His track record of turning teams around in two seasons indicates that Tottenham’s present struggles could be part of a longer-term development plan.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Postecoglou’s job is safe, and the club is fully behind his project. Romano’s reassurance that Postecoglou isn’t in immediate danger of losing his position offers some comfort to fans worried about the stability of the managerial role.
