As soon as the Tottenham Hotspur team was named for this afternoon's Europa League clash with Hungarian league leaders Ferencvaros, there was excitement in the air.

First competitive starts for teenagers Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear, and another opportunity to watch prospects like Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, and some other fringe players meant that the early Thursday evening kick-off was a must-watch for Spurs fans.

The pitch at the Groupama Arena struggled to cope with the greasy conditions, making Tottenham's fluid transitional play challenging, along with some shaky moments at the back in the opening minutes.

Spurs, however, grew into the game and settled after Sarr's opener on the 23-minute mark. They went on to comfortably manage the rest of the game before Brennan Johnson made it 2-0 with ten minutes to play before we were made to sweat in true Tottenham fashion as Ferencvaros pulled one back in the 90th minute.

The Italian continued his rich vein of recent form to hush his critics and was again reliable when called upon, producing excellent saves on 21 minutes and just after half time respectively. Not a whole lot he could do for the home side's goal, which came from loose marking from his defenders.
