Tottenham Hotspur improved last season and they plan to improve even further next season. With the trajectory the club is on under Ange Postecoglou, exciting times are ahead for the fanbase.

That said, the new Aussie boss has famously made his discontent with the current state of the club and squad known to the media. This should not be seen in a bad light but instead, a positive one. After all, Spurs have needed a manager to come in and notice the problems for a long time. Now, Ange is best-placed to address those problems in the summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano shares Tottenham transfer update on Crystal Palace star

One player who Spurs are increasingly linked with is Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace. The versatile midfielder is currently representing England at EURO 2024, playing a substitute role for the most part.

As we reported recently, Eberechi Eze has a tempting £60m release clause inserted in his Selhurst Park contract. However, given the nature of the footballing economy (and Daniel Levy's love for negotiating), Tottenham would like to lower that price ideally. Hence their recent inquiries.

In the modern era, transfer talk is taken with a pinch of salt until it is claimed by the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Thankfully, Romano has shared an insightful update on Eberechi Eze to Tottenham, via his YouTube channel.

In his own words, Romano said: “For Eberechi Eze... there is still nothing at advancing stages. Crystal Palace are still hoping for him to stay. The release clause is also into his contract, so it will depend on the release clause.... It’s still not something happening today it’s still not something imminent.”

While Romano has not ruled out Eberechi Eze's move to Tottenham, he has essentially said that it's nothing concrete at this stage. This is understandable, given Eze is on international duty with England. This will be his main priority, then he will address his own future after.

So, Tottenham fans, it is still too early to be excited by Eberechi Eze. Naturally, fans will watch Eze at the Euros and be excited because, let's be honest, it does not take much to stand out in this lacklustre England team currently. However, until Tottenham make a concrete move, anything can happen.
