Tottenham have been in the market for new strikers/wingers for a few months now. The likes of Johan Bakayoko, Dusan Vlahovic, and Raphinha have all circulated.

Spurs have also previously expressed interest in Juventus' 20-year-old Samuel Iling-Junior. Recently, the club have taken that interest to the next level.

According to Tutto Mercato Web (via The Hard Tackle) both Tottenham and Aston Villa have approached the Italian club about signing the player.

At present, the winger's market value stands in the ballpark of £8.7m according to Transfermarkt, however the club's valuation is sure to clock in higher as they look to secure large funds to invest in new players.

In North London, the attacking prowess of Spurs has been tremendous this season, however with injuries and a squad of young players there is still a need for more depth. Left-winger Manor Solomon is still set to be out of action until potentially some time in January/February 2024, and while he's impressed in recent matches, Richarlison's form has been too inconsistent thus far in a Spurs shirt.

Depending on the price range Juventus are willing to listen to, as well as the level of commitment from Villa in crafting a deal, Tottenham could find themselves in the bidding for Iling-Junior in just a few weeks.

While the signing would be a boost to squad depth and an investment with the propsect of future payoffs as the young player continues to develop in Europe's toughest leagues, it remains true that Spurs are still lacking a veteran striker despite the success team captain Heung-min Son has enjoyed in the role.

Ange has mentioned the struggles the players have had with their lack of composure and decisiveness in the final third of the pitch over the past few weeks, and some of that could be due to the relatively young profile of the squad.

Tottenham seem very interested in Iling-Junior, however, and progress in the deal could surface in the coming days and weeks as the January window nears.
