Ange Postecoglou defends one Tottenham player under fire by fans

Tottenham Hotspur now have three wins from three. Ange Postecoglou was quick to jump to the defence of one Spurs attacker, under fire by his own fans.
Ange Postecoglou doesn't mind taking the criticism if his side are in bad form. However, one thing he has never stood for, is seeing his players take the blame for being out-of-form.
In fact, the win against Qarabag marked three wins in a row in all competitions for Spurs. While it is only the start of winning form, no Tottenham fan can turn their nose up at that.
One player who has been key to Tottenham over the last three matches is Welshman Brennan Johnson. He has scored one goal in each of Spurs' last three matches.

Speaking to the media, Ange Postecoglou was quick to remind Tottenham fans of how important Brennan Johnson has become at Tottenham this season.
In his own words, Postecoglou said: "Bren [Johnson] was really important for us, particular today with going down to ten men pretty early... I thought him Dom [Solanke] and Sonny provided [attacking outlet]"
Postecoglou continued: "Bren's been good at taking up those positions... Took his goal well... That's three in three games for him and long may it continue."
Needless to say but Tottenham face an even tougher opponent this weekend. They travel to Old Trafford to face a struggling Man United side, who will be up for the challenge this weekend.
It remains to be seen whether or not Brennan Johnson starts against Man United but he certainly has the form to be considered. It is also worth noting that Son Heung-min is a current injury risk.
Brennan Johnson's turn of form could not come at a more satisfying time. In fact, after the North London Derby loss, a very small minority of Tottenham fans hounded Johnson, unfairly.
The poor treatment from fans saw Johnson delete his social media, thus reflecting that players are human beings too. So, for Johnson to silence those doubters is particularly satisfying.
In the words of Postecoglou, long may Johnson's fine goal-scoring form continue.
