Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed in a Friday afternoon presser that Dominic Solanke will miss the game against Everton this weekend.

Solanke was an ever-present for AFC Bournemouth last season, featuring in all 38 of their Premier League games. So, naturally, it has taken two games for him to be unavailable in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt. Ange said:

"Dom picked up a knock in the last game. He got through the game but it flared up the day after and he'll miss the game tomorrow. It's an ankle injury, he copped it really early on, and someone went across his ankle. It just depends on his recovery [when he returns], obviously, we've got the international break. but it's not serious."

Considering the amount of attacking subs that Spurs made on Monday night, these quotes do make it a bit of a surprise that Solanke managed to survive six subs and complete the 90+ minutes. One would assume he did not mention how his ankle was until after the game.

This sets up Richarlison for a start against his former club. The Brazilian striker missed a good chance to win the game right at the end on Monday, but did score in both games against his former employers last season, including a brace at Goodison Park.

Still, it is a shame to have Solanke unavailable after a promising debut. Still, in better news, Ange confirmed that Porro is available after being taken off in the game against Leicester. He also said that new signing Wilson Odobert is available for selection, and Yves Bissouma is also back, after serving his in-house suspension on Monday.

Everton have been crippled at the back, so despite this news about Solanke, there is still no excuse for a Spurs side who should have enough to beat an Everton side depleted by injuries.
