Mikey Moore had a great debut as a starter for Tottenham in the Europa League, and Ange Postecoglou reacted in the post-match press conference.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou expressed his delight following Mikey Moore’s impressive debut in the Europa League clash against Ferencvaros.

In a bold move, Postecoglou opted to rest several experienced players, allowing the young winger to make his first senior start alongside teammate Will Lankshear.

While Lankshear had a commendable outing, it was 17-year-old Moore who truly stole the spotlight. The young talent played a pivotal role in both of Tottenham’s goals, showcasing his ability to thrive under pressure in a high-stakes environment.

Postecoglou was effusive in his praise for Moore's performance, noting his composure and decision-making skills despite his age:

"He’s shown remarkable ability to deal with pressure, keep possession in tight spaces, and make clean decisions. It’s not easy out there when defenders are flying in; he took one within the first 30 seconds, but he drove on regardless."

Moore’s performance certainly caught the eye of Spurs fans, who have been keenly aware of his potential. The teenager faced the formidable Hungarian league champions in a fiercely contested match, and his contributions did not go unnoticed.

With each touch of the ball, he seemed to grow in confidence, consistently looking to create opportunities for his teammates. Postecoglou also highlighted Moore's eagerness to learn and grow, stating:

"He’s got so much growth and he wants to learn. I couldn’t be happier with him and I’m very pleased that he’s part of our football club."

Postecoglou faces a decision regarding whether to place his faith in Moore for the upcoming Premier League match against Brighton if Heung-min Son is still on the mend from his injury.

He may also opt to depend on the more seasoned Timo Werner. Following Moore’s impressive performance, numerous fans feel he deserves a more significant role in the first team.
