7 players who returned to Tottenham after leaving
For context, this will only apply to players who completed two permanent spells at Tottenham Hotspur during different periods. Therefore, loan spells will not count.
1. Tony Marchi
The legendary Tony Marchi represented Tottenham Hotspur on two seperate occasions. The first spell was at the beginning of his career, where he came through the Tottenham youth ranks. He then spent some time in Italy with Juventus, Torino and Vicenza before retiring at his boyhood club Tottenham.
2. Micky Hazard
Like the aforementioned Marchi, Micky Hazard started and ended his career with Tottenham. However, unlike Marchi, Hazard spent his entire career in England, with interim years between his two Tottenham spells being spent at Chelsea, Portsmouth and Swindon. Needless to say, he is mostly remembered for his time in North London, with one FA Cup win and one UEFA Cup win.
3. Teddy Sheringham
Teddy Sherringham never needs any introduction to soccer fans, particularly those who side with Tottenham Hotspur. Regarded as one of the best strikers in England history, Tottenham were lucky enough to see him on two separate occasions. He played for Tottenham before and after his most successful period at Manchester United.
4. Robbie Keane
The legendary Irishman Robbie Keane played in Europe, Asia and North America. However, he is mostly remembered for his tenure with Tottenham Hotspur, which stretched out across two different spells. The striker scored 91 Premier League goals for Tottenham, playing for them between 2002-2008, before re-joining them from Liverpool for a 2009-2011 spell.
5. Jermain Defoe
No matter where he went, Jermain Defoe always ended up back at Tottenham. He initially signed for Tottenham in 2004 and stayed until 2008. After a one year spell with Portsmouth, he then returned to Tottenham in 2009. Bonus points to Defoe for ALSO returning on a loan spell.
6. Pascal Chimbonda
Pascal Chimbonda never truly looked settled at any club and the same can be said for both of his spells with Tottenham Hotspur. He had a good spell with Spurs between 2006-2008, making 65 Premier League appearances in two seasons. He then went to Sunderland for a season, before a less successful spell back at Tottenham, only making three Premier League appearances before leaving.
7. Peter Crouch
Not many are aware that Peter Crouch represented Tottenham twice, because his first spell wasn't successful and he was shipped out having made no first-team Premier League appearances. He did re-join Tottenham in 2009, though, and stayed there until 2011.
