Tottenham is believed to be leading the way to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. It's also been revealed that the England international wants to move to Tottenham as soon as possible, despite former interest from North London rivals Arsenal.

Furthermore, it seems like Eze has reached an agreement with Tottenham and has said yes to playing for Lilywhites. Now, the remaining negotiations are between Tottenham and Crystal Palace.

So, Eberechi Eze is now as good as a Tottenham player, right? Well, that seems to be the internal feeling at Tottenham, but not necessarily at his contracted club, Crystal Palace.

Tottenham transfer target Eberechi Eze starts for Crystal Palace today

Crystal Palace kicks off against Chelsea shortly, and surprisingly, Eberechi Eze is in the starting lineup for the Eagles. This is despite the player having one foot out the exit door, and that same foot in the entrance of Hotspur Way.

Of course, Crystal Palace has every right to start any player they want. After all, as far as they are concerned, he is still a contracted Eagle and as one of the best players in the league, they might as well use him in the lineup while they still can.

It's just surprising that they've opted to do this. Usually, when players are in talks to leave, they are omitted from the matchday squad. I mean, it seems like Man City did this with Savinho recently.

If Daniel Levy makes as much progress as he would like, this might be Eze's final performance in a Crystal Palace shirt, but certainly not his final performance in London.

Eberechi Eze is one of the finest creators in the game at the moment. It's clear to see why Tottenham want to sign him, given the injury to James Maddison. Eze is a player who could come in and make the start of the Frank era seem as smooth as possible.

So, Tottenham fans will be hoping for a bright Eberechi Eze display for two reasons - One of them being to humiliate Chelsea, which is always nice. The second one is so that he can enter a bright patch of form before joining Tottenham.
