Tottenham has been plagued by injuries throughout the season, and an expert has provided a somewhat negative update regarding Micky van de Ven.

Tottenham fans have been dealt some disappointing news regarding Micky van de Ven’s injury, as expert analysis from the Premier Injuries website has revealed a tentative return date that is likely to be frustrating for Spurs supporters.

The Dutch defender, who has been a key part of Tottenham's defence this season, is sidelined once again due to a hamstring injury.

Van de Ven has struggled with hamstring issues throughout his short tenure at Spurs, and it appears that the problem has resurfaced.

The good news is that this time the injury is less severe than last season’s tear, with the 23-year-old suffering only a strain. While not as serious, the timing couldn’t be worse for Tottenham, who are already navigating a challenging season.

Ahead of Tottenham's clash with Ipswich Town, manager Ange Postecoglou spoke about the injury, stating that Van de Ven’s return would depend on how well he recovers during the international break.

The hope is that the two weeks of rest will be enough for the centre-back to regain fitness and make a swift return to the starting eleven, with Spurs facing Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on November 23.

Unfortunately, the Premier Injuries website has estimated that Van de Ven will likely be out until early December. If that turns out to be the case, he will miss not only the Manchester City game but also an important Europa League fixture against AS Roma.

Given Van de Ven's importance to the team, Postecoglou is unlikely to rush his recovery.

The manager has shown a cautious approach in dealing with injuries and will only bring the defender back when he is fully fit. As such, Spurs fans may have to wait a bit longer before seeing the Dutchman return to action.

This injury news adds to Tottenham’s already growing injury list, and it’s clear that Postecoglou may need to consider adding a new left-centre-back to relieve some of the pressure on Van de Ven’s hamstrings.

Tottenham must be strategic in the upcoming winter transfer window

Considering all of the above, challenging times are undoubtedly ahead for Tottenham this season regarding the availability of certain key players in the squad.

The club’s management must think long-term and reconsider their stance during the winter transfer window, either by looking for defensive alternatives or standing firm when other clubs express interest in players who, despite not having the starring roles that figures like Micky van de Ven enjoy, could still be crucial in case a starting player is injured.

Additionally, if a situation arises where two players in the same position are sidelined, such as a hypothetical scenario where both Van de Ven and Cristian Romero end up injured (which we hope doesn’t happen), Tottenham must be prepared for such contingencies.

Therefore, Tottenham must stay alert to the situation surrounding Radu Dragusin, as rumours suggest that some Serie A teams are keen to sign the young Romanian centre-back, although the club has not opened any negotiations at this point.
