After it looked like an absolute certainty that Tottenham would sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, Arsenal now seems to be leading the race. Understandably, fans are furious, with one even calling Daniel Levy a 'coward.'
Just this week, it was understood that Daniel Levy was actively in talks with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish to sign Eberechi Eze. This was after the Englishman reportedly said yes to Tottenham, and even wanted the move to happen as soon as possible.
Well, fast forward to this evening, and Tottenham's entire transfer strategy has been completely rocked by a familiar foe, Arsenal. The North London rivals are lapping up every bit of joy right now, after David Ornstein claimed Arsenal had reached an agreement in principle, and is even headed for a medical!
Understandably, Tottenham fans are not best pleased. If anything, the club is in a complete state of disarray, as there's no tangible world where this transfer could have been messed up this bad.
Tottenham fans put one man on blast after Eberechi Eze to Arsenal saga
The truth is, Daniel Levy stalled too long. If he were proactive and acted fast in the negotiations with Steve Parish, then Eze would be wearing Lilywhite next season, not red.
So, yeah, this one has stung the Tottenham fanbase.
One Tottenham fan even described Tottenham as a "fundamentally unserious club" and directed the animosity towards Daniel Levy, calling the Tottenham chairman a coward, and campaigning for him to leave the club.
Another Tottenham fan even saw the bittersweet positive side, in that allowing Eze to join Arsenal was the only way those on the fence would join the Levy out brigade. This fan, with a painful take, said: "This is the only way our spineless fanbase will maybe actually wake up for what Levy is and do something about it. His job is untenable."
Good. This good. Why’s it good? Because this is the only way our spineless fanbase will maybe actually wake up for what levy is and do something about it. His job is untenable.

It’s not levy out when it suits you. It should be levy out as load as possible every single game home…
It's not the first time that Daniel Levy has messed up, and it certainly won't be the last. There was a little bit of joy at the start of the summer transfer window, but those were only cracks that were being papered over. Now, fans are starting to see the chairman for what he really is, and it's a dark, dark day for Levy.
