In recent days, Tottenham’s striker Richarlison has been linked with a potential move to Saudi Arabia this upcoming transfer window.

Since joining the North London club, it’s fair to say that the ex-Everton player has struggled to find his footing. In 46 games across all competitions, the player has scored just five goals. He’s found more game time under Ange Postecoglou following the exit of Harry Kane, and while his form hasn’t been awful this season, he still isn’t producing at the level Spurs would like to see.

Notorious for big money moves, a transfer to the Saudi Pro League could see Tottenham net a huge transfer fee which could be used to invest in a much-needed center-back, along with another striker as a replacement. However, it’s unclear at the moment whether or not the deal has a chance of going through.

As some journalists report, and as many Spurs fans have witnessed in recent weeks, Richarlison has been working hard to improve his physical and mental health in order to play at his best in the world’s toughest division of football. As such, it would surely be tough for him to give up on the effort he’s been putting in.

On the other hand, the Brazilian is set to be out for the next few months as he recovers from a recent groin surgery, and it could make sense for him to move to a team where he’ll get more minutes as soon as he’s back to full fitness.

Spurs’ summer signing Brennan Johnson is the current favorite out on the left flank, and with Heung-min Son occupying the striker role, it’s hard to see Richarlison getting a start anytime soon.

It would surely come as a huge boost to Tottenham’s transfer budget if the move were to take place, allowing them to improve upon their extreme lack of squad depth. However, it seems that the transfer will largely depend on whether it fits into Richarlison’s career plans.
