Mauricio Pochettino made some instrumental signings while he was Tottenham manager, the majority of whom still shine bright as indispensable members of the side.

One of the hardest parts of being a world-class manager is bringing in the right personnel, those who eventually propel the club they join to new, sustained heights. The Argentinian made 24 permanent signings as gaffer, some good, some bad. Only nine of his 24 signings still play for Spurs, a few bearing the unenviable title of his three worst signings.

However, he made some unbelievably astute signings that paved the way for the club’s most successful half decade in recent memory. Tottenham never won a trophy under Pochettino’s stewardship, but came agonizingly close on numerous occasions. These three players were influential in Tottenham’s rise to prominence.
