Tottenham travel to Slovenia for a European Conference League contest against Mura, a side that hasn’t register a point through four matches in Group G.

Spurs need all three points to strengthen their position going into the final group match at home against Rennes on Dec. 9. While Thursday’s match is a must win, Antonio Conte will almost assuredly rest some of his preferred starters. No disrespect to Mura, but Tottenham should have enough to brush aside the Slovenian outfit without having to use the side’s elite.

Conte made a statement of intent in his first match in charge, starting his best side for the home test against Vitesse. He went back to the same starting 11, something Spurs hadn’t done for the better part of five years, for the away test at Goodison less than three days later. Proving a point and testing his top player’s physical resolve and willingness to put their bodies on the line, it’s highly unlikely he’ll opt for all the big guns for this one.

The question is whether Conte will select a mix of first team and squad players or if he’ll put his faith in fringe individuals looking to make an impression. He definitely won’t make the same naive mistake Nuno Espirito Santo did when he didn’t even ask his top players to travel to Vitesse.

HQ already published a projected starting 11 piece for the Mura match. However, Conte has a number of variations at his disposal, so here’s one of those alternatives.
