Tottenham  Hotspur got back to winning on Thursday in the Europa Conference League with an at times convincing 5-1 win over MS Mura, here are Spurs player ratings from the win.

Tottenham scored early and late against Mura to walk away with a big win putting the team atop Group G on goal difference after Rennes beat Vitesse 1-2 in Arnhem. After a string of poor performances, a somewhat convincing win was exactly what Spurs needed heading into the weekend against Aston Villa. Here are our ratings from the Tottenham performance, starting with the star of the match, Giovani Lo Celso.

Giovani Lo Celso – Spurs best on Thursday

Giovani Lo Celso has had a very stop and starts time since joining Tottenham Hotspur in January 2020. At moments in his time at Tottenham Lo Celso seems to disappear and has little impact. At other times, Lo Celso sparkles making timely passes and popping up in the right spot, as was the case Thursday.

On Thursday Lo Celso was excellent, making the right play at the right time often, helping guide Spurs to the big win.

On the first goal, it was Lo Celso pouncing on the loose ball and hitting the first time pass forward to Dane Scarlett to start the goal movement. While Scarlett did not score and it was a bit of good fortune to get Dele the penalty, it was the quick thinking of Lo Celso with the short forward pass that got Spurs moving.

On Spurs’ second goal, it was Lo Celso who brought down the Winks chip, turned on his defender, and then demonstrated enough burst to get around the corner. Once around his man, there was no doubting what Lo Celso was going to do with the ball. Although Matko Obrdovic got a hand on the ball, there was no stopping Lo Celso’s shot.

In the second half as Tottenham was finally closing the match with a few more starters involved, Lo Celso was the man who fed Harry Kane for his third and final goal on the evening. Many probably would think with three goals and the match ball, Kane was the man of the match but for his solid 90 minutes and involvement in multiple goals himself, Lo Celso was the man on Thursday.

Here are our ratings for the rest of the Tottenham squad.
