We would like to see Tottenham get their European journey off to a good start and this is the front three Nuno Espirito Santo should run to get there.

It is neither possible nor really feasible for Tottenham to play their strongest possible starting attack against Rennes in France. Given Heung-Min Son is back in London and will miss the game the line-up must be rotated. While we do not believe that this is what Santo will do, that is in our projected XI, rather this is the front three we would most like to see start for the Spurs against Rennes in France.

Tottenham left forward: Bryan Gil

We were lobbying for Bryan Gil to start against Crystal Palace and the way things turned out the creative,  young, attacker never got to even step on the pitch. To not get the chance to play Bryan again midweek would seem almost criminal. Instead, the Spanish winger should be allowed to do this thing and play in an out-and-out winger role. This does not mean Bryan would not pitch in defensively, rather, just that he would stay near the touchline and work to get down the line and get service into the box. These are some areas where Bryan excels and we all want to see it.

Tottenham center forward: Harry Kane

There is no doubt that playing Harry Kane all of every game is not an option for many reasons. However, when you hope to score a few goals early, having Kane in the team from the off can certainly help. Bryan needs a target and there are few better in the world than Harry Kane. Additionally, Kane is the kind of player that makes others around him better, and having him as the focal point of the attack with a couple of youngsters on either side of him sure sounds good.

Tottenham right forward: Dane Scarlett

Maybe in the perfect world, Scarlett would be playing at the center-forward position, but it really would make more sense for him to end the game there but start the game on the wing. If you look across the Premier League, a lot of the successful young attackers are playing on the outside, not as a striker. This is not to say Scarlett’s future is on the wing, rather, the wing is the path to more immediate playing time, and getting the young may on the pitch be a priority.

Ultimately, we think there is very little chance that Santo would actually start this front three, however, if ever there was a time to try this line, why not midweek in France?
