Tottenham Hotspur faces Southampton on Wednesday afternoon in a rescheduled match from March. The game also marks the occasion of the first Ryan Mason starting XI for Tottenham Hotspur, as the former player takes over for Jose Mourinho. Given the limited window of opportunity for Mason only so many changes can be implemented before the match and the players available are the same, so only many things can be different from Mourinho’s last XI. Of course, the one thing definitely different will be the striker, as Harry Kane is likely out injured, meaning someone has to fill in.

Carlos Vinicius – One more shot with Tottenham

Among the players with a potential new lease on life is Carlos Vinicius. Given that Harry Kane is now injured, it seems very possible that the Brazilian will finally get a full chance in the Premier League. Vinicius has been involved some in the Premier League.

300 minutes over nine appearances is hardly enough time to really know if he can perform at this level or not. Kane is out and Son is best on the wing so Carlos Vinicius should get a chance to play on the back shoulder of the last defender and be a target for the team.

We should expect considerably more service from the flanks than we were seeing under Mourinho, so Vinicius is going to get his chances to make something happen. With no team south of Manchester running away with the top four, Vinicius gets a chance to make a big mark, in a big game for Tottenham Hotspur. So who will be the other 10 joining the Brazillian on the pitch?
